Class Description 

Hip Hop

Hip Hop class provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance movements in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment, and offers a new set of combinations and routines every time. Learn the latest dance moves from today and from various styles from the 80's and 90's most popular dances. No previous dance experience is required.

Jazz

Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. Jazz dance can take on many different characteristics and styles, including Street Jazz, Percussive, Broadway, Contemporary and Lyrical. Jazz classes can be patterned in any of these styles or a combination of them. Emphasis is on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style.

Breakdancin'/ Animation/Powermoves

This is a a style of street dance that student will learn Animation and Bopping which include but not limited to Botting, Ticking, Waving, Gliding, Tutting, Strobing, Vibrating, Dime -stoping,Slow-mo & Warping, Bounce Hitting. Along with Krump which includes Stomps, chest pops, Jabs, arm swings, buck hops, Concepts/Connects, Tricks, Kill offs, Body Control, Grooves, hype ups, get offs, Shouts. These are hard hitting, sharp and full body movements.

Hip Hop/Lyrical Combo

Hip Hop and Lyrical dance is a dance style that blends ballet and Hip Hop dance. Lyrical is generally smoother and a bit faster than ballet, but not quite as fast as jazz. A lyrical dancer uses movement to express strong emotions. Dancers will learn a routine from each style.

Jazz/Musical Theater

Will explore telling a story through dance, while still focusing on learning proper dance technique. Class technique layered with Broadway style jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.class concept that infuses the funky style of hip hop with the technical side of jazz. This class will encourage students to dance outside of the box and bring their own personality to each movement.

Lyrical/ Contemporary

This style is a beautiful blend of ballet, jazz, and modern. Dancers learn the techniques of ballet and Jazz while expressing themselves with emotions and rhythms of Modern styles. They will allow students to identify with popular music, and encourage them to tell stories through interpretation and self-expression.
